Missionary to Speak at Men's Breakfast

A free men's event. Invite other men and young men to join you.

Falmouth Baptist Church will host a free men's breakfast Saturday September 16at 8am. The guest speaker will be Barry Abbott, missionary to the Baka people of Cameroon, Africa.

Some 50,000 - 60,000 Baka live in scattered groups of 200 or less in an
area about the size of the state of Maine. Their territory is mainly
in the southeast rainforest region of Cameroon.

Mr. Abbott and his wife Desma Abbott are missionaries serving with World
Team. They are helping the Baka people to learn the oral Bible through
stories from the Old and New Testament and to share the stories with
their people. The stories are enabling people to turn away from abuse
and alcohol to God and inspiring them to seek more education and to
develop a more sustainable village life with farming and wells. The
Abbott's vision is to open churches among the Baka that are led by
local people and ultimately translate the Bible into the Baka
language.
