What Wind Turbines Sound Like : Falmouth Is Twice As Loud !

Falmouth, Massachusetts is ground zero for poorly placed wind turbines in the United States

General Electric a domestic wind turbine company refused to build even one commercial wind turbine in Falmouth because of residential setbacks and ice throw.

The Town of Falmouth hid a noise warning that the two wind turbines they installed were twice as loud as the General Electric wind turbine. The town hid the letter for five years from 2010 to 2015

The 2010 Vestas noise warning :

“The Town has previously been provided with the Octave Band Data / Sound performance for the V82 turbine. This shows that the turbine normally operates at 103.2dB but the manufacturer has also stated that it may produce up to 110dB under certain circumstances.”
