Wind Turbines A Political Career Ending Disaster

The commercial wind turbine business propaganda machine has spent the last 20 years trying to reinvent the facts about shadow flicker, noise, and power production. The shadow flicker is a nuisance, infra-sound is described as torture and when the wind doesn't blow there is no power.

In Canada, the pro commercial wind turbine Liberal Party green subsidies turned their customer's electric bills into second mortgages on their homes. The Liberals in power for over 15 years were thrown out.

Portugal’s Socialist government invested heavily in thousands of gear driven commercial wind turbines. The result was the emergence of a cottage industry of replacing massive gearboxes. The Portuguese government continues to support investment in renewable energy but dropped commercial wind.

Germany and England's green ratepayers pay well over 200 percent more for power than the people in the United States.

Massachusetts at one time had a renewable energy goal of 2000 megawatts of commercial wind power but Falmouth, Massachusetts became ground zero for poorly placed wind turbines in the US. Falmouth followed by twenty-one other communities suffered health problems that range from sleep disturbance, headache, tinnitus, ear pressure, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, visual blurring, tachycardia, irritability, problems with concentration and memory, and panic episodes.

The wind industry over the last twenty years has said the newer wind turbines make less noise or the massive costs of purchasing and installing turbines has turned the corner on electric rates. How much longer can voters believe their local politicians using the Green movement to keep getting elected?

Massachusetts quietly ended the land-based goal of 2000 megawatts of wind power at around 115 megawatts a massive failure.

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center built the proposed 35 million dollar New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal an ocean wind turbine port. The port stands now at 135 million with NO rail link, NO cranes and needs PCB dredging from the hurricane gates to Buzzards Bay. The hurricane gates only have a clearance of 120 feet, ocean wind turbine jack-up barges do not fit.

Lastly, politicians have adopted the term "steel in the water" when it comes to placing ocean wind turbines in the ocean.

What they won't tell you is the wind turbines placed off Europe suffer a greater risk of corrosion due to the saltwater environment causing massive maintenance problems.

The US Navy suffers billions of dollars from corrosion. In 2011 the USS Independence started massive oxidation.

The failure and rapid end of land-based wind turbines in Massachusetts over health and nuisance is a harbinger for other states. Politics today is wind power's largest barrier.

In 2005 every local and state politician wanted a wind turbine installation on their resume in order to get elected or reelected. Today 15 years later no politician wants anything to do with a land-based wind turbine installation in Massachusetts.

Massachusetts Senators Edward J. Markey and Elizabeth Warren tout the transition to clean and renewable energy but have dropped any mention of the Falmouth wind turbines or the twenty one other Massachusetts communities suffering the health affects of the tortuous turbines.

Wind turbines in Massachusetts have become cancerous sores that need to be cut out and in turn, local and state politicians that push a failed agenda need to be voted out.
