Woods Hole Museum Revives Cookbook Project

Among the defining elements of any place is its local cuisine. The Woods Hole Historical Museum will document just that for the third time.

WOODS HOLE, MA — There's perhaps no more defining element of a place or region than its cuisine. In New England that includes numerous Portuguese, Cape Veredean and Native American cooking elements, as well as the obvious lean towards food from the ocean.

On two different occasions, the Woods Hole Historical Museum has documented the food of residents and those who care about Cape Cod, and officials plan to do so again.

Officials will revive the cookbook series "Woods Hole Cooks Something Up", first published in 1975, again in 2002 and now forthcoming in 2024.

"Contained within the pages of this new volume will be recipes for delicious foods submitted by you–our family, friends, and neighbors! In addition to featuring some old-time favorites, this publication will be twenty-first century in spirit, offering a range of submissions reflecting our diverse, inclusive eating habits, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten- and dairy-free options," museum officials said.

Here's how you can submit to the project:
