Mark Faherty to Speak and Lead Bird Watching Walk After the Meeting

Mark Faherty will speak about the Birds of Cape Cod at the October meeting of the Woods Hole Woman’s Club. Mark has been the Science Coordinator at Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary since August 2007 and has led birding trips for Mass Audubon since 2002. He is past president of the Cape Cod Bird Club and current member of the Massachusetts Avian Records Committee. Each week he presents The Bird Report on WCAI radio. Following the meeting, weather permitting, Mark will lead a short guided bird-watching walk for those wishing to participate.

The public is invited to join club members at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 9 at First Congregational Church on the Village Green in Falmouth for this presentation. Light refreshments will be served and those attending may bring a brown bag lunch if they wish.

Since its founding in 1914, The Woods Hole Woman’s Club has worked to enhance the lives of those in Woods Hole and surrounding communities. Members raise money for college scholarships and support community organizations through various club activities. Most meetings are held at 11:30 AM on the second Tuesday of each month from October through April with occasional events scheduled in the evening. New members are welcomed at any time during the year. Information about membership is available from Dee Aukamp at 508-495-9911.
