Family of Woman Seriously Injured at Fenway Asks for Privacy
Tonya Carpenter is at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center recuperating from life-threatening injuries, surgery.

The family of the woman injured by a flying baseball bat at Fenway Park in Boston on June 5, 2015, is asking for privacy while she heals from the injuries, according to a press statement.
Tonya Carpenter, the statement noted, is in serious condition recuperating from the injury and surgery performed last night. The family said they were “grateful to all who have reached out with thoughts and prayers” but are also “requesting privacy at this time as Tonya recovers.”

Carpenter, who was sitting in the second row off the third base line, was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after being struck in the head with a broken baseball bat. She was at the game with her husband and son.
