Fiddlehead Theatre presents "Unexpected Cabaret"

WHAT: Fiddlehead Theatre Company, the resident company of the historic Strand Theatre, will present a one-of-a-kind musical event during ArtWeek Boston called Unexpected Cabaret. This lively review teams Boston Public School students, teachers, friends, and community members with professional cast and crew from Fiddlehead’s upcoming production of Elton John and Tim Rice’sAIDA[running October 17-26th, 2014 at the Strand Theatre]. This unforgettable, “unexpected,” cabaret will delight audiences of all ages who love theatre, music, and singing along.

Highlights include:

· Performer/Firefighter Dwaine Devonish-Daye will perform a rock number with his father, who is also a fireman!

· Performer Ta’Nika Gibson [Star of Fiddlehead’s upcoming AIDA] and Boston Public School teacher Jason Jordan will sing and dance together.

· Performers Sarah Flanagan, Becky Bass, Terrell Foster-James, and Boston Public School teacher Deejay Robinson will perform a Musical Theatre quartet.

· A Group/Audience Sing-Along of tunes “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid with steel drum accompaniment, and Boston favorite, “Sweet Caroline.”

· Dessert reception provided by Chef Chris Douglas of Dorchester’s Tavolo and Ashmont Grill.
