Red Sox Calling Up Young Phenom

Boston is ready to make its 22-year-old slugger a big leaguer.

Boston's biggest acquisition of trade deadline? It may very well be coming from within.

Reports right around midnight had 22-year-old slugger Andrew Benintendi making his way to meet with the team Tuesday in Seattle.

Benintendi, the seventh overall pick in 2015, is taking a direct route to the majors. He played 35 games in Lowell and 19 in Greenville last season and only 34 games in Salem and 63 in Portland this season. He was just recently moved to left field - playing four games there - from center to prepare him for the potential call-up.
