Red Sox, Yankees To Play In First Round: ALDS 2018

The season started with a brawl between the two heated rivals. It will end for one of them in the first round of the playoffs.

BOSTON, MA — The rivalry is renewed, for real. A season that started with a bench-clearing brawl between the two all-time rivals will end for one in the first round of the playoffs.

Boston will take on New York in American League Divisional Series, which is set to start Friday night at Fenway Park. See the full schedule here. It's the first time the Red Sox and Yankees have faced each other since the Sox' historic comeback in the 2004 ALCS.

The Yankees made first round by beating the Oakland Athletics, 6-2, Wednesday night in the Bronx in the AL Wild Card Game. The fans were chanting "We want Boston."
