
David Ortiz's retirement tour has been a bittersweet affair for Red Sox fans - though Boston is edging closer and closer to the playoffs, each passing game brings us closer to the end of the venerable slugger's career.
Ortiz has received an outpouring of tributes throughout the season, ranging from a Lego statue to a corn maze, but perhaps his most unique came from the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.
The organization announced on Facebook Saturday that it named one of its tagged great white sharks "Big Papi" after the Sox legend.

At approximately 15 feet in length, "Big Papi" is the average size for a great white, which according to National Geographic is 15 to 20 feet.
"Big Papi" is one of 19 great white sharks tagged off of Cape Cod since the start of the summer.
