Patch Patriots Roundup: Are Belichick And The Pats Never Ever Getting Back Together?
Speculation about Bill Belichick's future dominated the news cycle around the NFL this week. Will Taylor Swift dominate it on Sunday?
FOXBOROUGH, MA — What a week it's been in New England, as NBC Boston's Tom Curran finally put reporting to the rumors that most NFL fans have assumed for the majority of the 2023 season: The Bill Belichick tenure is actually coming to an end.
In case you missed Curran's comments this week — and the neverending pieces that were spun off of it, including in Patch — the veteran Pats reporter, when asked if the recent win over Pittsburgh would do anything to stave off calls for Belichick's job, said he believes the decision has already been made.
Curran gave an interview to the Arbella Early Edition on Monday, and said the decision to move on from Belichick has already been made by team owner Robert Kraft, and no result over the rest of the year will be enough to make him waver on that decision.

Still, it's unlikely the team will move on from Belichick during the season.
"They were going to play out the string, and at the end of the year, there would be a parting of the ways for a variety of reasons," Curran said.

For a team so often in the news because of its Super Bowl hopes, it's unique for them to be one of the most interesting storylines in football because of turmoil. Yet, that's where the team stands.
Who will be around to make what will likely be a top-two pick in the upcoming draft? Who will guide that player — presumed to be a young quarterback — through the early years? And where will Belichick go to finish his quest for most all-time wins?
The Patriots are nothing if not interesting.
Oh yeah, Taylor Swift might be coming to Foxborough this weekend, too.
Taylor Watch
With the Kansas City Chiefs coming into Foxborough on Mond — err — Sunday, much will be made about the potential presence of the biggest superstar in the NFL orbit: Taylor Swift.
Swift, of course, has a — semi-infamous — home in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, putting her roughly an hour and a half from the stadium should she decide to stay there.
She also isn't currently scheduled to play any concerts that would provide a scheduling conflict.
Either way, prepare for the litany of bad puns and references (sort of like the headline of this article).
Matthew Slater: Good Guy Of Every Year
Longtime Patriot Matthew Slater has long been one of the most active players in the community, and that didn't change this year.
Slater helped hand out Chromebooks and headphones to 2,000 children at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston.
It was all part of the Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation's Corey's Christmas.
