A local couple has been selected to take part in the 29th installment of the hit CBS reality TV show Survivor.
Jeremy and Val Collins of Foxborough will compete in the latest edition of the long-running series and try to stay on the island the longest to win the $1 million grand prize.

Lawyer Calls Police Car Impersonation Citation Silly and Comical

The lawyer representing a man who recently received a citation from Braintree police for impersonating a police car has called the charges comical and silly.
Braintree attorney Russell Matson said that the man, whose identity has not been released by police, never impersonated a police car and he told police in advance that he was painting his car to look like a Decepticon from Transformers according to WCVB.
The comments were the first from the defendant’s attorney since the citation was written in early August.
In addition to the comments, Matson has created a page on My Massachusetts Defense Lawyer for his client to explain his side of the story.
Bike Destroyed in Fire Replaced by Milton Firefighters
A teen’s bike destroyed by a house fire has been replaced by a group to Milton firefighters.
As WHDH reported, the firefighters took up a collection after Alex Merrill lost his favorite possession in the fire.
“We just felt like it was the right thing to do,” Kelly said.
According to Milton Firefighter Kevin Kelly said, Merrill asked the firefighters to go back for his bike on the night of his fire, but when the bike was discovered, it was nearly melted.
Sharon High School Cracks Top 10 in Boston Magazine’s Greater Boston High School Rankings
With the start of school around the corner, Boston Magazine has released their rankings for the best schools in Greater Boston.
Once again, Sharon High School earned a high ranking, coming in at number eight.
Plenty of area schools also made the rankings. Foxborough and Mansfield were next on the list, coming in at 41 and 42. Oliver Ames was able to crack the list, coming in at 70. Foxborough Regional Charter placed 95th on the list.
Committee of 11 Will Help Find Mansfield’s Next Superintendent
A search committee of 11 members will be responsible for helping find and interview potential candidates for Mansfield Public Schools’ open superintendent position
Discussing the search at the Aug. 26 meeting of the school committee, the committee said the search group will include town officials, employees of the school district, and parents.
A 19th-century manufacturing complex has reopened in Easton, as a residential community.
The Boston Globe reports that Ames Shovel Works recently re-opened as the home of 113 new residences.
A $46 million revitalization, the building was once home to over 500 workers that used production-line assembly methods.
Prior to the revitalization, the building was considered to be one of the country’s most endangered historic landmarks.
