5 Things You Need To Know Today: September 3

The main Framingham Library is holding a grand opening today for its new entrance way and several PTO meetings tonight.

1.​ The main Framingham Library is holding a grand opening today for its new entrance way, parking lot and reading garden at 3:30 p.m. The public is invited. Refreshments and cake will be served afterwards.

2. The Framingham Conservation Commission is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Memorial Building. On the agenda is an abandoned cesspool at General Chemical and solar panel installation on the Mass Pike at the rest area and at exit 13.

3. Rio-born Brazilian jazz composer/singer/pianist Luiz Simas performs Brazilian music standards and his own original tunes at the main Framingham Library tonight at 7.

4. Several PTOs are scheduled to meet today.

  • Henenway Elementary PTO at 6:30 p.m.
  • McCarthy Newcomers PTO at 7 p.m.
  • Wilson Elementary PTO at 7 p.m.
  • McAuliffe Charter School at 7 p.m.


5. PLAN AHEAD: The Town of Framingham is creating a plan for pedestrians and cyclists. There is a meeting tomorrow, Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Blumer Community Room at the Memorial Building.
