FRAMINGHAM, MA — A good sign the coronavirus pandemic might be on the wane in Framingham: the president of the Boston Market restaurant company is coming to the city on Friday to reopen a store.

Randy Miller was only promoted to the job of president of Boston Market on Monday. He's touring stores across the country to thank workers for keeping restaurants roasting during the pandemic.

The two Framingham locations — one along Cochituate Road behind Walmart, and one at the Mass Pike plaza — closed completely during the pandemic. The Mass Pike location has reopened, and the Cochituate Road store will open on Friday.

Both restaurants are take-out only for now. Under Gov. Charlie Baker's phased-reopening plan, restaurants will reopen in Phase 2, which could begin in early June if coronavirus cases continue to drop.

The first 30 people to eat at the Cochituate Boston Market on Friday will get a free quarter-chicken meal, according to the company.
