Dorm At FSU To Be Renamed For First African-American Woman Grad
The dorm will be named after teacher, journalist and abolitionist Mary Miles Bibb.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—A student petition has prompted the Board of Trustees for Framingham State University to rename a dorm after the first African-American woman to graduate from the institution, according to reports.
The dorm will be named after teacher, journalist and abolitionist Mary Miles Bibb, who graduated from the Lexington Normal School (as it was formerly named) in 1843, reports the Milford Daily News. Bibb is recognized for her many contributions to the anti-slavery movement.
Trustees plan to seek approval for the renaming this summer.
