Dr. Seuss Characters Loose at Hemenway Elementary

Dr. Seuss characters came alive at Hemenway Elementary School, thanks to the PTO and teachers. Today would have been Dr. Seuss' 107th birthday.

Seuss characters were loose in the hallways of The event sponsored by the Hemenway PTO, and greatly assisted by several teachers from the elementary school, was a huge success.

After a brief history on Dr. Seuss - who would have been 107 years old today - students divided up into groups according to grade to listen to bedtime stories, at the event held just before school vacation week.

Fourth and fifth grade students were treated to readings of Fox in Socks, Scrambled Eggs Super and Oh Say Can You Say in the library. Fifth grade staff who helped with the readings included Stephen Wiltshire, Meredith Gonzalez, Amanda Marrella and Deb Nazzaro. Check them out in the Framingham Patch video. Even the teachers donned pajamas for the fun family event.
