5 Units Uninhabitable After Fire Hits Framingham Condo Complex

The fire broke out Thursday just before noon at the Oak Terrace Condominiums along Route 9.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Five units in a Framingham condo complex were deemed uninhabitable after a fire broke out at the Oak Terrace Condominiums Thursday morning. The fire began in the building's laundry room and spread to the roof, Acting Fire Chief Michael Dutcher said.

The fire broke just before 11:30 a.m. at the condo building at 1321 Worcester Road. Because of the size of the building, the department made the decision to call a second alarm, bringing all Framingham firefighters on duty to the scene. Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze quickly.

The building was evacuated, and everyone but those living in the five damaged units were allowed back inside. The displaced residents all found places to stay, Dutcher said.
