Framingham High College and Career Center To Re-Open This Week

The Center closed in November, when Christine Luzi, who ran the Center, left to take a position with MassBay Community College.

Closed since late November, the Framingham High School College & Career Center will re-open this week.

The Center closed after Christine Luzi, who oversaw the Center, resigned to take a position with MassBay Community College. Her last day was Friday, Nov. 20.

Just before the holiday break, it was announced on Flyers News that the College & Career Center would re-open in January, and will be staffed by a school counselor.

The Center will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.

Juniors and seniors can drop in and get support with their college and/or career search or application process.

Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 6 the Center will be open on Wednesday evenings from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The Center will be open for students and parents on Wednesdays. Students can schedule individual appointments.

In December, Framingham High Principal Elyse Torbert said it was a priority to get the Center up and running again.

Torbert said Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott and the district’s Chief Academic Officer Sonia Diaz is creating the new position to provide new opportunities to create and support a “college and career-ready systemic culture in Framingham.”
