Framingham Hosts Climate Action Planing Workshop
Residents can add their input to the ongoing city effort to create a climate action plan at a workshop in September.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The City of Framingham is continuing the development of a Climate Action Plan with a community workshop on September 12. All residents are invited to help create a vision for a climate ready future.
The Climate Action Plan will serve as a roadmap to guide the City and its community members towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing equitable community resilience.

Through inclusive outreach and engagement, climate action planning helps communities identify needs and goals, develop achievable strategies to reduce their carbon footprint, increase resilience and sustainability, and center equity to advance environmental justice.
Framingham’s Climate Action Plan will be driven and supported by stakeholders throughout the community, including residents, community liaisons, community organizations, City staff, and many of the City’s boards and committees – such as the City Council Environment and Sustainability Subcommittee and the Sustainability Committee.

The hybrid community workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in person in the Costin Room of the Framingham Library and virtually over Zoom. Spanish and Portuguese interpretation will be provided. Attendees can register at mapc.ma/framinghamCAP.
At the workshop, participants will help set a vision for the City of Framingham to reduce carbon emissions and increase community resilience to climate change. The workshop will include an overview of the Climate Action Plan process, activities to gather people’s ideas about goals, and strategies for the plan and provide opportunities to stay engaged.
Anyone unable to attend the workshop is encouraged to attend other community engagement events or share their visions for a sustainable Framingham through this online survey:
