Framingham Police 'Disturbed' By Video Of Tyre Nichols Death
Framingham Police said they denounced "the brutality suffered by" Tyre Nichols at the hands of five Memphis police officers.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — "The actions of the defendants defies humanity."
That's what the Framingham Police Department said in regard to the five former Memphis police officers seen on video Friday beating Tyre Nichols during the final moments of his life.
The killing of Memphis resident Nichols has sent shockwaves across the country. Five Memphis police officers have been fired and charged with murder and other crimes. They are Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr. and Justin Smith.

Framingham's law enforcement community is reacting to the news of the firings, and the local department released a statement in strong defense of the charges filed against the officers and their termination from the Memphis police force.

"The women and men of the Framingham Police Department are deeply troubled, disturbed, and disgusted by the released video involving Tyre Nichols and five former members of the Memphis Police Department. We stand with our community and the nation denouncing the brutality suffered by Mr. Nichols. The actions of the defendants defies humanity. The Officers of the Framingham Police Department are committed to building trust and strengthening community relationships. We extend our deepest condolences to Tyre Nichols family, friends, colleagues and community."
After the video of the police killing was released on Friday, demonstrations have been ongoing in Boston and across the state. In Worcester, a vigil is slated for this week.
Politicians and officials from across the state have also been speaking out in support of the firings and charges.
