Framingham's Windsor Green Fire Deemed Electrical
Damages from the fire are estimated at $200,000.

FRAMINGHAM, MA-Last week's Windsor Green Condo fire that displaced 10 residents was deemed electrical and accidental.
In a joint press release by the Department of Fire Services and Framingham Fire Department said the two-alarm fire at 1710 Windsor Drive last Wednesday heavily damaged two units causing about $200,000 in damages. No one was injured and cinder block walls in the building prevented the fire from spreading further, according to the release.
“It is important to call the fire department whenever you experience one of the warning signs of an electrical fire. We can use our thermal imaging cameras to look for excessive heat inside the walls," said Chief Hicks.

Both departments urged residents to remain vigilant for hazards that could cause an electrical fire including short circuits, sizzling or buzzing sounds and the vague smell of something burning and call the fire department immediately.
“Electrical fires are one of the leading causes of home fire deaths. It is important to have a licensed electrician review your electrical system every ten years. Small upgrades and repairs can prevent fires.” State Fire Marshal Ostroskey said adding, “The need to use power strips is a sign that your electrical needs have changed and the system needs updating.”
