The Framingham store manager is Michael Bavin. The location has a total of 10 employees.

Advance Auto Parts opened its doors last Friday, Dec. 12, but held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday morning, Dec. 19.

The store is the newest member of the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce.

The event was attended by MetroWest Chamber of Commerce CEO & President Bonnie Biocchi, Framingham Town Manager Bob Halpin, State Representatives Chris Walsh and Tom Sannicandro and Framingham’s Director of Community and Economic Development Art Robert.

“This is a welcome addition to downtown Framingham,” said Halpin.

”We really are thrilled that you are here. As we have big, big visions for what will happen downtown over the next couple of years,” said Halpin. “And happy to have you a part of it.”

Walsh read a proclamation in “recognition of the grand opening of their newest Advance Auto Parts in Framingham. And in bringing 75 years of experience in helping do-it-yourselfers fix their vehicles in MetroWest.”

Besides helping individuals with their vehicles, Advance Auto Parts is also helping Veterans.

The company supports the Building Homes for Heroes. And yesterday, the Framingham store made a $1,000 donation to the organization.

The organization builds or modifies homes, and gifts them, mortgage-free, to veterans and their families.

Accepting the check yesterday was Marine Corp. Sgt. Greg Caron, a double amputee from Connecticut, who recently was gifted a home from the organization, last October. He lost both his legs in Afghanistan, when an IED exploded.

The organization built 25 homes for Veterans in 2014 and their goal is to build 40 homes in 2015.

Advance Auto Parts nationwide has donated more than $1.3 million to Building Homes for Heroes.

“It is one thing to say welcome and thank you, but we are also here to help guarantee your business success,” said Halpin. ”If there is anything you ever need or feel we are letting you down on, call Art (Robert). And Call Bonnie as we really have a partnership. We have a great business relationship with the Chamber.”
