Leading Theologians Come to Waltham in May

Hope International Church Welcomes Speakers from Around the World.

Leading theologians will bring their world experiences to a special mission’s program at Hope International Church, 21 Bruce Road, Waltham, MA, starting on Sunday, May 3. The speakers will their work and be available to answer questions from the audience.

The special program includes:

  • May 3: Hope Church Associate Pastor Alex McDonough will speak on “Why Pray for the World?” Stephen Nsengiyumva, founder of Africa Healing Exchange (AHE), a new partnership of Rwandans and Americans dedicated to providing innovative and sustainable solutions for individuals affected by violence and trauma and for those living in highly stressful environments, will address major issues needing prayer in Rwanda.
  • May 10: Hope Church Pastor Paul Reid, who has taught church leaders in many countries, will speak on the need to pray for workers in the world missions movement. Gabriel Nelson will address praying for Israel in these difficult times.
  • May 17: Devaraju Gandamala will speak on the need for the church to pray for the world and why prayer is a crucial part of the church’s mission. He is a pastor and church leader from Andra Pradesh, India, and has worked with the World Concert of Prayer in India.
  • May 24: Gandamala will address specific needs for prayer for one of the states of India. Ernesto Zavala from Ripe for Harvest will report on his work with deaf and hearing street children in Peru.

Hope International Church is one block from Route 20, across from Gore Place, on the Watertown line. The church is accessible by the No. 70 bus line. The church draws visitors from many MetroWest communities and area colleges and universities, such as Brandeis, Bentley, Harvard, and MIT.
