New Vice Principal of Brophy Elementary School Announced
Brophy Elementary School has announced their Catlin Long will take over as the new vice principal.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- Brophy Elementary School will have a new Vice Principal starting in February. Dr. Frank Rothwell, Principal of Brophy Elementary School, announced Caitlin Long as the school's new Vice Principal.
Long earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Classics from Boston College, a Master of Education in Secondary Education in History from Boston College, and is presently enrolled in a Ph.D. program concentrating on Curriculum & Instruction in Leadership, Policy, and Educational Change at Boston College.
The theme at Brophy Elementary is ‘Sharing One World’ which provides an emphasis on embracing cultural differences through curricular activities. Long has extensive experience working with English Learners in multiple capacities as a teacher in the Everett Public Schools, as a facilitator of professional development, and as a researcher at Boston College.

Describing the search process, Dr. Rothwell explained, “Ms. Long experienced several rounds of interviews and had the opportunity to meet with our educators, students, central office leaders, and parents. All stakeholders were given opportunities to provide feedback and all comments were reviewed and considered. Overwhelmingly, people who met with Ms. Long were impressed with her contagious enthusiasm, strong theoretical knowledge, diverse academic experiences, and eagerness to work with our students. Throughout her time with us she emphasized the importance of building relationships with children, staff, and students’ caregivers.”
“I am so excited to begin working with Brophy students, teachers, and families and to be joining a school community committed to caring for and educating all children, and one that values bilingualism and multiculturalism,” Long said. “I am thrilled to begin working alongside teachers, families, and students.”
