Framingham's OUT MetroWest Gets 5K Grant

The grant is in support of the organization's drop-in program for LGBTQ+ youth.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — OUT MetroWest has received a $5,000 grant for the Framingham location drop-in program for LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) youth. The grant was given by MutualOne Bank's charitable foundation.

OUT MetroWest offers a variety of programs tailored to LGBTQ+ youth in Framingham and Natick, including a middle school program, high school program and a program focused on transgender and gender non-conforming high school students. The organization provides weekly meetings and training events for schools and other local organizations.

Since 2011, OUT MetroWest has directly served more than 1,000 youth at its meetings, has conducted dozens of trainings for local schools and organizations, and has welcomed more than 200 guests at its events for LGBTQ+ families.

said Sousa. “The organization’s goal of ensuring that our communities are welcoming to LGBTQ+ individuals and families is important to us.”
