Shoppers World Demo Plan Up For Discussion: Monday Manual
See seven important items coming up this week, including a festival return, a new Starbucks and an election forum.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Welcome to the Feb. 14 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up during the week in seven Patch communities between Framingham and Worcester.
Here's what to know for the week of Feb. 14:
Framingham
One of the first steps in a major renovation at Shoppers World will take place this week. The Conservation Commission on Wednesday will hold a public hearing over the demolition of the Barnes & Noble and Old Navy portions of the shopping center. Once those businesses leave — possibly not until next January — a rebuild for a 45,000 square-foot grocery store can commence.

Worcester
Representatives from Clark University will go to the Conservation Commission on Monday seeking permission to build a new 70,000 square-foot academic building along Hawthorne Street. The building would replace a parking lot and house the school's media arts, computing and design learning spaces.
Wayland
Wayland residents will have a chance to comment on a report detailing environmental cleanup activities at the Alta River's Edge development along the Boston Post Road. Comments made during the hearing on Thursday will be included in a final draft of the cleanup plan going to MassDEP.

Marlborough
The Marlborough City Council will meet on Monday for the first time in a month. There's a lot on the agenda, including an approval for a site plan for that new Route 20 Starbucks that's been in the works since September.
Milford
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Celebrate Milford festival is likely coming back in 2022. The one-day spring festival is tentatively scheduled for May 14. The Select Board will likely approve the festival's permit at the Monday meeting.
Natick
Local developer Stonegate Group will head to the town Zoning Board of Appeals on Tuesday for a public hearing on its plans for a 19-unit mixed-use development along Summer Street. The building would replace the former Kells brewery (formerly Barleycorn's).
Sudbury
