UPDATED: Flood Warning Issued for Sudbury River in Saxonville

The National Weather Service says the Sudbury River in Saxonville is at flood stage due to all the rain this week, and expected to cause minor flooding all weekend

UPDATED 8:20 a.m.: The Sudbury River in Saxonville was at 9.9 feet at 7:15 a.m. this morning and can cause minor flooding when it reaches 10 feet.

The Sudbury River is expected to remain above flood stage (10 feet) throughout the weekend. Thus, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning until Sunday evening.

Most affected will be the Town of Wayland, where portions of Shore Road and Pelham Island Road can expected to see flooding today.

The National Weather Service says the Sudbury River in Saxonville is near flood stage, and may hit 10 feet on Friday.

If the river hits 10 feet, parts of Wayland as well as the intersection of Route 20 and 27 could see some minor flooding. The Weather Service predicts the river likely will not go higher than 9.5 feet.

The highest the river has crested was on March 31, 2010 when it hit 13.99 feet. The river was over 12.5 feet in March 2001, March 2010, June 1982 and April 1987.

The Weather Service issued a flood watch for Metrowest and Framingham through Friday.
