SAFE Coalition's regional take‑back day accepts prescriptions, over‑the‑counter meds, and even vapes anonymously, helping reduce misuse risks and keeping drugs out of local waterways.

High school roundup/scores: Caitlin O'Neil nets four goals in Hanover rout (bostonherald.com) — Franklin High's field hockey team stayed perfect at 4-0 with a dominant 7-0 Hockomock League win over Sharon, highlighted by a hat trick from Penelope Brady and multi-goal efforts from teammates. The roundup also lists dozens of other Massachusetts high school scores in field hockey, soccer, golf, cross country, and volleyball from the same day.

5. Franklin battalion fire chief will lead Northborough. What to know (metrowestdailynews.com) — Franklin residents may recognize Battalion Chief Keith Darling, who has been appointed the new fire chief in nearby Northborough after more than two decades with the Franklin Fire Department. The Northborough Select Board turned to Darling after its initial choice declined the job, and he's expected to start his new role on Oct. 1.
