Family Whose Son Has Down Syndrome Hosts Fundraiser
The fundraiser is to benefit The Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress. Ronen Gladstone lives in Grafton, and the benefit is in Westborough.

GRAFTON, MA — When Ronen Gladstone was born, doctors told his parents he had Down syndrome. He’s 4 now, and a preschool student at North Grafton Elementary School.
The Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress (MDSC) has provided support, services, and social connections for Gladstone’s family, and many others in the area. So on Feb. 29, the Gladstone family plans to give back by hosting a dinner fundraiser at the popular Sapporo Korean Barbecue & Sushi restaurant in Westborough.
Gladstone’s uncle, Arie Bram of Beacon, NY, is an experienced marathon runner and this April, he will fulfill his life-long dream of running the Boston Marathon, while raising money for the MDSC. He has committed to raise $10,000 – and the dinner fundraiser was planned to help him reach his goal.

“I am running the Boston Marathon and raising funds for MDSC to help ensure that my nephew, and other children with Down syndrome, have as many childhood opportunities and future pathways to success as my own child,” said Bram in a statement. “We are thrilled by the response we have been getting for the fundraiser. Local businesses and families are stepping up to help and get involved. It is great to see how many people are rooting for Ronen and for our fundraising efforts.”
The dinner will take place from 6-9 p.m. at Sapporo, 50 E Main St., in Westborough. Advance tickets cost $20 per adult and $10 for each child between the ages of 3 and 12. Tickets will also be available at the door for $25 per adult and $15 per child – cash only.

Raffle tickets will also be on sale: 5 for $5; 25 for $20 and 60 for $40.
“When we moved to Grafton, we had no idea how lucky we were,” said Michael Gladstone, Ronen’s father, in a statement. “Sometimes it seems like we can’t go anywhere in town without running into someone who knows Ronen, and we are thrilled at the support he gets at North Grafton Elementary and throughout the community. We look forward to seeing all of our friends and neighbors at Sapporo on the 29th.”
