MA State Police Checkpoint Coming to Worcester County
During the checkpoint, troopers will attempt to detect, remove drivers who are under the influence of alcohol, drugs.

The Massachusetts State Police will be holding a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in Worcester County between Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, 2015, according to a press statement.
The checkpoint will be held on an unspecified public way during those days in an effort to “urther educate the motoring public and strengthen the public’s awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways,” according to Col. Timothy Alben, the superintendent of the state police.
The checkpoint times and selection of vehicle will not arbitrary but safety on the roads and limited inconveniences to travelers will be assured and minimized, according to the statement, in an effort to “reduce fear and anxiety.”

The sobriety checkpoint will be paid for by funds from the Highway Safety Division of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security.
