Do you like to party? Do your neighbors? Grafton's police chief gives advice on how to throw a safe and successful party.

GRAFTON, MA—It's graduation season. Heck, it's party season, and many will be celebrating everything from a graduating senior to the fact that it's sunny out.

With that in mind, for this installment of Grafton Police Chief Normand Crepeau, Jr., issued his latest column to answer a question about neighbors parties that "get out of control."

A resident asked, "My neighbors like to throw parties during the warmer months. Usually they are fairly quiet but sometimes they can get out of hand. With summer fast approaching and party season here, is there any advice you can offer to help keep these parties under control?"

Chief Crepeau notes that Grafton police have become accustomed to the presense of noise and party related problems, especially from the younger folks.

"When parties compromise the personal safety of citizens and negatively impact the quality of life within neighborhoods, the Grafton Police Department must take action to improve conditions," he writes.

Among the tips given by the chief are to ask your neighbors' permission before throwing a party, leave a number where they can complain, agree to clean up, and to have a reasonable end time.
