Day Trip - Block Island, Rhode Island

Block Island is one of New England's most beautiful "natural gems"!

Leave by deluxe motorcoach transportation from the Community House  at 5:15 am. (provided by Jodie’s Place)  Travel to the seaport village of Point Judith in Galilee RI to board the ferry to Block Island, nicknamed “Bermuda of the North” and described by many as a “last great place.”  The cozy island is known for its relaxed way of life and breathtaking scenery.  A delicious luncheon of New England Scrod, Herb Baked Salmon or Pasta Pomodori is included at the elegant and stately National Hotel.  Block Island's Landmark Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is located in the heart of Old Harbor, Block Island. The National’s giant, wrap-around porch is world famous with breathtaking views overlooking the Block Island Sound, Your day will also include a guided bus tour of the island (highlighting Mohegan Bluffs, the 125 year old Southeast Lighthouse, as well as it’s sister beacon, the North Light) and some free time along famous Water Street before boarding the return ferry.  
Returning at approximately 8:30 to 9:00 pm
