Don’t let the unsavory title turn you away—We promise, Ur-ine for a fabulously funny evening!
If you are concerned that Urinetown is one long bathroom joke best appreciated by people whose sense of humor has not developed since they were four, fret no more. The show is actually not about bodily functions but about power. This is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold - a time when people have to pay for the “privilege to pee” and a hero decides to plan a revolution to lead the people to freedom.
This modern comedic musical is outrageously witty, with a cast of characters, well… let’s just say they are probably unlike any other cast of characters you’ve ever seen.
Under the direction of Christopher Shailor and two senior student directors (Elizabeth Callahan and Jake Namaroff), the musical direction of Abigail Frost, and student choreographer Alex Pecoraro the extraordinarily talented 30 plus member cast and crew will bring this outrageous futuristic story to life.
So, don’t let the title fool you – URINETOWN: The Musical is the Winner of three Tony Awards and promises to bring you an evening filled with side-splitting laughter, feel good fun, and as always, outstanding theatre. Bring the kids, bring the grandparents – You won’t want to miss this one!
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. For advance tickets contact HWUrinetown@gmail.com Tickets are also available at in Wenham. Checks payable to HWRHS.
