Hamilton Resident Among Photo Contest Winners

A photo taken at a Gloucester beach captured a prize in the Essex National Heritage Commission contest.

Hamilton resident Jennifer Maguire captured third place honors in the “Shiny Happy People” category of this year’s Essex National Heritage Area Photo Contest.

“The annual photo contest encourages photographers of all levels to ’capture’ the living landscapes, unique places and interesting people of Essex County, MA,” according to a press release from the commission.

Maguire’s photo (included with this article) captures a scene at Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester. Her photo, along with the other 13 images receiving honors, will be exhibited throughout the year at the National Park Service Visitor Center in Salem (2 New Liberty Street, Salem, MA 01970) and at the office of the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission (160 Main Street, Haverhill, MA 01830).
