Two Wenham Painters to be Featured at Gloucester Art Auction

Two oil paintings from Wenham artists will be featured at the North Shore Arts Association 2011 Live Art Auction on Saturday.

The live auction, which this year features a new online option for bidding, is Saturday evening, Aug. 6 at the NSAA waterfront gallery at 11 Pirates Lane in East Gloucester.

John Flynn‘s oil painting “North Light” and Dolores Erikson Reid‘s oil painting “Annisquam Sentinel” will be among featured artwork. Flynn and Reid both live in Wenham.

Auction tickets are $15 and proceeds benefit NSAA, a non-profit cultural organization active on the North Shore for nearly 90 years.

More than 100 distinctive works of art representing a wide range of artists, genres, and mediums will be available for auction, all chosen through a juried process.

Auction artwork is also available for previewing online at www.nsarts.org.

Beverly-based Kaminski Auctioneers will run the auction on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 7-9 p.m. The doors open at 6 p.m.

New this year, live online bidding will be available. Those who cannot attend the auction in person may watch the proceedings on their home computers or personal electronic devices and make bids in real time while the auction is happening. Other well-known North Shore artists who will provide artwork for the 2011 NSAA Art Auction include Bruce Braithwaite, Paul George, Ken Knowles, Don Mosher, Charles Movalli, Dale Radcliffe and Jeff Weaver.
