60th Annual Arts Festival - South Shore Art Center

Annual Arts Festival Scheduled for June 19, 20, and 21 in 2015 on Cohasset Common

Cohasset, MA— For 60 years, Cohasset’s historic town common has been the site of South Shore Art Center’s annual arts festival, attracting over 9,000 guests to the three-day festival. Held on Father’s Day weekend, a sprawling eight-pole tent housing art exhibitions, 100 exhibitor booths, food booths, and a performance stage transform the quintessential New England town green. The South Shore Art Center Arts Festival runs from June 19-21, 2015 and offers something for everyone.

The centerpiece of the Arts Festival is the Juried Art Exhibition and Members’ Show housed in the main exhibition tent. Throughout the Common, 90+ juried craft exhibitor booths offer a wide variety of quality, artist-designed items including exquisite jewelry, home and garden products, hand-made clothing, ceramics, fine art and photography. The Arts Festival also includes a Young Artists’ Exhibition and art-making activities throughout the weekend. Plein air painters and other artist demonstrators share their talents while music fills the air. “The Arts Festival is the perfect blend of art, handmade craft, shopping, children, music, food—all with the beautiful oceanside backdrop of the historic Cohasset Common,” comments one Festival exhibitor. Musical entertainment ranges from jazz, to bluegrass and Americana. Fresh lobster rolls and homemade strawberry shortcake sold by neighboring church groups are all part of the Festival tradition, as is a trolley that shuttles visitors from satellite parking to the historic Cohasset Common. There is a $5 suggested donation at the entrance.
