Brockton Man Charged With Stealing 14 iPhones From Hingham Store
Police are investigating how the suspect was able to obtain a key and passcode for the AT&T Store at the Hingham Shipyard.
HINGHAM, MA — A Brockton man was arrested Sept. 19 and faces charges for allegedly breaking into the AT&T Store at the Hingham Shipyard two times within a week, police said.
Craig Akeem Robertson, 32, faces two counts of breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony, larceny over $250, and breaking into a depository, according to the Hingham Police Department. He was arraigned in Hingham District Court Sept. 20 and ordered held on $1,000 bail.
Police say the first break occurred on Sept. 7, when a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, latex gloves and carrying a backpack appeared to unlock or pry the front door and enter the store. He walked into the store for a short time, the alarm sounded, and he ran out the same door. Nothing was taken from that break and it confirmed that he used a key to unlock the door.

The second break occurred on Sept. 13 when a man, later identified as Robertson, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, latex gloves and carrying a backpack, allegedly used a key to unlock the rear door and entered the store. Robertson walked to the alarm panel and appeared to read the alarm code from his cell phone and turn off the alarm. He then walked to into a back room and opened the safe. He again appeared to read the safe combination from his phone. He filled the backpack with 14 iPhones and cash from the safe. Although the man in both incidents was wearing a hood, his face was visible at times, it appeared to be the same man, according to police.
During the investigation detectives were able to identify the suspect as a current employee of the AT&T store in Cambridge. Robertson was arrested at the Cambridge store on Sept. 19.
