CHORAL ART SOCIETY OF THE SOUTH SHORE SPRING CONCERT

BACH MEETS THE BEATLES Sunday, May 1, 2016 4:30PM House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main St. Hingham

The program includes Bach Motets (Jesu meine Freude, BWV 227 and Lobet den Herrn, BWV 230) Swingle Singers Bach, many Beatles favorites, and even a Beatles Sing/Dance Along. The wearing of Beatles t-shirts or even Beatles attire is encouraged! (Bach t-shirts welcomed, too!) Conductor and Artistic Director Danica A. Buckley and Choral Society members will be joined by guest soloists, all young professional opera singers with careers in Boston and beyond. Sarah Moyer, soprano, Christina English, alto, Joshua Collier, tenor, and Nathaniel Mattingly, bass and the chorus will be accompanied by professional musicians Sarah Tocco on organ and piano, Jackie Ludwig, cello, Bronek Suchanek, double bass, and Oscar Suchanek, percussion.

Proceeds from each concert help fund our scholarship, awarded each year to a high school senior from the South Shore who is going to college to major in music. In other community service, we provide outreach singing to nursing homes and hospitals.

Tickets are $20 for general admission and $18 for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased online at www.choralartsociety.org, at Buttonwood Books in Cohasset, Carousels & Ships in Hull, CreYo Frozen Yogurt in Scituate, Mano Mano in Marshfield and at the door.
