Former Rockland Health Agent Accused Of Lying About Inspections

The suspect will be arraigned in Hingham District Court on charges she lied about inspecting local restaurants and falsifying reports.

HINGHAM, MA — Rockland's former health agent will face 22 charges in Hingham District Court, which accuse her of lying about conducting health inspections at local restaurants and submitting false reports to the town.

Rockland Police said Janice McCarthy forged documents and signatures on inspection reports for at least 11 restaurants. McCarthy is scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 5.

McCarthy resigned late last month after she was confronted in a meeting with town counsel and interim Town Administrator Marcia. The town has since appointed four acting health agents to conduct inspections police said McCarthy didn't do.
