Foster School To Hold Math Olympics
Students will be given medals if they can participate in 9 out of 10 weeks of the competition.

Foster School will hold their first ever Math Olympics, beginning Oct. 5.
Foster Principal explained to parents that the Math Olympics is a ten week program for children in Grades K-5, “designed to be a fun, voluntary, extra-challenge math experience,” for children.
A notice sent home to Foster parents explained the purpose of the program is to develop children’s problem-solving skills and a goal of the program is to encourage school-wide participation and commitment to the learning process.

To participate, students must log on the web and answer a number of math problems. Each Friday, math problems will be available for parents to download on the Foster School website. Each grade level has their own set of problems. Completed Math Olympics worksheets must be returned the following Thursday morning to your child’s teacher who will then send the sheets to the office.
Medals will then be awarded to every child who participates in at least nine of the ten weekly challenges
