Hingham EMS, Fire Crews Take Part In Flu, Coronavirus Training
Hingham Fire and Emergency Management crews this week got some refreshers on how to help prevent catching and spreading infectious diseases.
HINGHAM, MA — Hingham fire and emergency management crews took part in extra training this week in ways to deal with flu and potential coronavirus patients should a case of the international epidemic be diagnosed in the town. The training included the proper use of personal protective equipment for fire and EMS crews, as well as ways to help prevent the spread of infections among the public.
Hingham Lt. James Sheard is also discussing the latest information available from the Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Hingham fire and EMS also shared a set of guidelines on how to properly keep hands clean during flu season. They include:
* Always wash your hands after blowing your nose, sneezing or coughing.

* Wash your hands after touching an animal, animal waste or pet food.
* Wash your hands after touching garbage.
* Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, rinse them under clean, running water and thoroughly dry them.
