Hingham Police Take Part In 95 Birthday Parades
Hingham police said, while they enjoy the parades, they had to wrap up them in anticipation of the end of the state's stay-at-home order.
HINGHAM, MA — Amid all the struggles and isolation of the new coronavirus health crisis came plenty of uplifting moments. For 95 residents of Hingham over the past eight weeks, those moments included Hingham police driving by with lights flashing, and sirens blaring, as part of a birthday party cruiser parade.
Hingham police said they participated in 95 birthday parades, and one 65th anniversary parade, since the start of the health emergency in March.
"It was a pleasure being invited and we were happy to help bring some more happiness to so many little ones," Hingham police posted on the social media.

Hingham police said they are no longer accepting invitations to participate in parades, however, as they transition back to more traditional activities with the state's stay-at-home restrictions expected to be eased on May 18, which will likely result in an increase in calls.
"We're in this together," police said.
