HINGHAM, MA - One last time, Hingham said goodbye to a local Marine and beloved family member.
Cpl. Christopher Orlando was remembered Friday during a memorial service at St. Paul’s Parish in Hingham. During the service, Orlando’s sister Gina Orlando-Devine and cousin Connor Higgins spoke fondly of the lost Marine.

“I feel a huge hole in my heart and judging by the turnout today, so do you,” Orlando-Devine said.
Higgins channeled Orlando’s love for the water and the time he spent at Nantasket Beach in Hull.

“If you want to see him again, look towards the sea. He floats there, waiting for you,” Higgins said.
During an honor service after the memorial, Orlando’s mom Linda Orlando, a former state trooper, was presented with a folded American flag.
The service and memorial had an effect on nearly everyone in attendance and drove Gov. Charlie Baker to tears.
“Anybody who watched his cousin and sister speak and didn’t appreciate the loss of his family and the Marines wasn’t listening,” Baker told WHDH.
In January, Orlando and 11 other Marines died in a helicopter collision during a training exercise off the coast of Oahu.
