Hingham Resident Selected as Father of the Year
Joe Kringdon of Hingham was named one of three recipients of this year's American Diabetes Association Father of the Year Award.

The American Diabetes Association and the Father’s Day Council of Boston will honor Joe Kringdon of Hingham as one of three recipients of this year’s Father of the Year Award. The men will be celebrated for their commitment to help stop diabetes.
The festivities took place on June 11, 2013 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston.
Each year, the American Diabetes Association and the Boston Father’s Day Council presents the Father of the Year Award to outstanding gentlemen, who are local business and community leaders, for balancing a highly successful career with the demands of being a great dad. Also being honored at this year’s event is Jack Huang CEO of Douzo Modern Japanese Restaurant and Lounge and Basho Japanese Brasserie and Bill Loehning EVP of Fidelity Investments.

Joe is Executive Vice President at Pioneer Investments. He joined Pioneer Investments in 2008. A longtime resident of Hingham, Joe and his wife Jane have raised their three children there and remain active in the community. An active basketball player, a sometimes squash player and a practicing amateur ‘stand up’ comedian, Kringdon is also supportive in the Boston community. He is a member of the Board of “Achieve”, a nonprofit educational organization designed to identify middle school youths from underprivileged inner-city public schools, who can benefit from an intense summer educational program on the campus of the Noble & Greenough School.
For 20 years he served as a Board member, and for a time as Board President, for “Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc.” a Boston-based non-profit which serves homeless, high-risk and runaway youth. He is also a current member of the Board of “Children Well Being Foundation”, a non-profit organization that provides lifesaving medical care to children and preventative health education for families in under-served countries in Latin America. He is an active supporter of Rosie’s Place, the non-profit sanctuary for women in Boston, where his wife, Jane, serves as an Advisory Council member and co-chairs their annual event. He is an active supporter of minority recruitment efforts at his alma mater, the College of the Holy Cross, where he graduated “Cum Laude” in 1980 with a B.A. in English.

As an honoree, Kringdon has made a commitment to support the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Several members of Joe and Jane’s extended family have been impacted by diabetes.
