Hingham Shipyard Stabbing Suspect Turns Himself In

Ryan Devine, 33, of Weymouth, is charged with assault and battery with a knife.

HINGHAM, MA - A man wanted for stabbing a stranger at the Hingham Shipyard has turned himself in.

Ryan Devine, 33, of Weymouth, turned himself in at Wrentham District Court, according to the Hingham Police Department. He was wanted on a warrant for assault and battery with a knife.

At about 8:45 p.m. Monday, staff at South Shore Hospital told the Hingham Police Department that a 37-year-old man had arrived seeking treatment for a stab wound. The victim said that was walking through the Shipyard’s parking lot with a friend when he exchanged words with a man he did not know, according to police.

The stranger, identified as Devine, allegedly stabbed the victim once and ran away. The victim was then taken to South Shore Hospital by his friend with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives found a large amount of blood on the sidewalk in front of Supercuts in the parking lot.
