Hingham to Show Support for Orlando Family
The Hingham Police Department has asked residents to stand on the side of the road as the family of Corporal Christopher Orlando comes home.

HINGHAM, MA - Police in Hingham are asking residents to show their support for the family of USMC Corporal Christopher Orlando Tuesday night.
The Orlando family is set to return from Hawaii Tuesday, landing at Logan Airport at 6:12 p.m. and arriving in Hingham around 7 p.m., according to the town’s Facebook page.
The family will be escorted by the Massachusetts State Police from the airport to Hingham, with local police joining the escort as it arrives in town. The route will be:

- Enter Hingham from Route 3 South at Exit 15
- Right onto Derby Street
- Straight onto Whiting Street/Route 53 South to Route 228
- Left onto Main Street to East Street
- Ends on Summer Street
As a sign of support, people are encouraged to stand along the route, holding flags. At Hingham High School, the town will fly the official flag from the “Flags for Soldiers” campaign.
Those along the route are asked to remain silent as a sign of respect.

Those showing their support are asked to park and stand off the road, as all roads will remain open.
Anyone who needs a handheld flag may obtain one from the Hingham Veteran’s Services Offices.
Orlando was tragically killed on Jan. 14 while aboard one of two military helicopters that collided in Hawaii.
