According to state police, the fugitives are actively being sought by its Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, and all have been classified as "high risk, level 3 sex offenders" by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board.

State Police said in the release, "We are seeking the public’s help in locating these fugitives, so that we can ensure they comply with the sexual offender registration law, which is a public safety measure that allows members of the public to be aware of high risk sex offenders who live or work near them. Anyone who has information about these fugitives or their whereabouts should call the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section at 1-800-KAPTURE (1-800-527-8873)."

Included in the list was Scott Halle. The 45-year-old is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. He is required by law to register as a result of his 2000 convictions in Plymouth County for rape and for indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older, police said. The conviction stemmed from a sexual assault in Marshfield. Halle has been convicted for failure to register as a sex offender on three previous occasions. He is believed to be homeless.
