Pot Cookies Discovered At Hingham School

Several students at a school in Hingham received medical attention after eating cookies laced with marijuana.

HINGHAM, MA — Five students at a school in Hingham received medical attention after eating cookies laced with marijuana.

On Jan. 11, Hingham police learned that a student at South Shore Educational Collaborative School on Abington Street ate pot cookies given to them by another student, according to the Hingham Police Department. The students, ages 16-17, were evaluated by a school nurse who believed the students were under the influence of marijuana.

The parents of the five students involved were contacted. None of the teens involved required medical attention and one teen was transported to a hospital by ambulance for another issue.

No charges have been filed at this time and incident remains under investigation.
