Sealegs, an amphibious boat company has released two of its newest boats at the Hingham Shipyard.
The company just released a new 7.7 M full width console ridge inflatable boat and a 7.7 M cabin boat.
"The biggest thing that is different about these boats is that the in-board engine that runs the wheels is quieter," said Anne Biddle, the operations manager at Sealegs. "It's quieter, it's wider and longer."

The amphibious boats can be found at Sealeg's first American store located at 2 Essington Drive at the Shipyard.
The New Zealand based company fist developed its boats for military clients and were built with technology designed for rapid response from beach to water, under the harshest conditions, in the most remote locations.

How Sealegs Works
The Sealegs system is comprised with a set of powerful motorized, aircraft-type retractable wheels that are fitted to the aluminum hulled boat. The wheel system enables easy transitions from land to water and vice versa, that allows all passengers to stay dry during transition periods – a convenient alternative for disembarking when formal docking facilities or supporting infrastructures are not available. Individuals can single-handedly launch from riverbanks, estuaries, beaches and lakefronts.
