South Shore Conservatory Opens Registration for 2016 Fall Arts Programs
Performing arts programs for students of all ages in Hingham and Duxbury

South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announces open registration for their fall 2016 performing arts programs for students of all ages at their Hingham and Duxbury campuses, most starting the week of September 12.
Among the several new programs SSC launches this fall are: Baby Yoga and Tot Yoga for babies and tots with a caregiver, Irish Fiddle, Intergenerational Irish Seisiun and JRP Lab Ensemble, for student musicians with two or more years of playing experience on any instrument or voice who are interested in playing jazz, rock and pop. Pure Harmony, for singers age 12-14, provides an expressive outlet and meaningful social connections with the goal of creating musical and personal harmony. New for students age 12-14, Musical Theater Studio Class is designed to help develop stage presence, acting and vocal skills for productions and auditions.
Also offered this fall at the Conservatory’s Hingham and Duxbury campuses and in Cohasset, is SSC’s Music Together® program which gives students, ages infants through four, a gentle introduction to the world of music, and Music Sprouts for ages three through five, accompanied by a caregiver.

Other classes available for students age four through eighteen are Drum & Sing, Time Train, Piano FUNdamentals, Group Guitar, Primo Voice Class, Mezzo Voice Class, and Pop/Rock Vocal Tech.
A full menu of dance classes for all ages includes Creative Dance, Pre-Ballet, Hip Hop 1 and 2, Ballet Level 1 to 5, and Ballet Repertoire and Variations.

Drama takes center stage on both SSC campuses this fall with Curtain Going Up, Let’s Put on a Show and Saturday Stage Club.
Students who play an instrument or love to sing may participate in programs such as Chamber Music, Rock Band, Fiddle Classes, Pure Treble children’s chorus, and Bay Youth Symphony (BaYS). Students interested in joining Pure Treble, for singers in grades 3-6, may attend an open rehearsal on September 12, 4:30 pm at SSC’s Duxbury campus. New students interested in participating in BaYS are invited to attend an open rehearsal on Wednesday, September 14, 6 pm at Marshfield High School.
Families with children ages infant through 18 who would like to try out an instrument or a music, dance or drama class are invited to Explore the Arts open house on Sunday, September 11, from 2-4 pm. This free arts exploration event takes place at both campuses.

For adults, SSC offers Woman Song as well as Adult Intro to Piano/Keyboard, Guitar or Violin, Adult Rock Band, Chamber Ensembles, Adult Jazz Workshop, Golden Voices and SSC Community Voices at both campus locations. For adults wishing to try out a class before registering for the semester, SSC launches its new adult program initiative, Arts for a Creative Life, with one week of free performances and open classes, starting September 27.
